According to the American
Heart Association, heart
disease is the most serious health problem for women in America,
yet only 13 percent of them realize that it's their greatest
health risk.
Mending Broken Hearts is a free community outreach program offered by the
University
of Pittsburgh Medical Center
and funded by the Highmark
Foundation and UPMC. It is designed to raise awareness and promote prevention
of heart
disease among women in southwestern Pennsylvania. We
offer seminars with a 20 to 30 minute presentation of heart disease
information and health screenings for all female participants.
